Hayley grew up in Waterdown, Ontario, where her love for sports—ranging from competitive dance and soccer to skiing—fuelled her fascination with the human body. This interest led her to earn a Bachelor of Kinesiology from the University of Toronto. During her undergraduate studies, she volunteered at SickKids and the Toronto Rehab Institute, witnessing firsthand the profound impact physiotherapy can have on individuals. Hayley then went on to pursue her Master of Science in Physiotherapy at Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen, Scotland, where she honed her skills and deepened her commitment to helping others thrive through movement. Hayley has a longstanding passion for working with children, gained through many summers as a camp counselor and her involvement in local child and youth programs. She has experience with kids of all ages and abilities, including those with cerebral palsy, autism spectrum disorder, delayed gross motor skills, and various musculoskeletal conditions. Through the CCMI course, Hayley has come to understand the importance of improved concussion education for families and is dedicated to supporting local athletes in their recovery. When she’s not at the clinic, you can find her exploring the scenic trails around Hamilton, getting lost in a captivating book, or hitting the slopes in winter.

Kara grew up in Eastern Ontario in the small city of Brockville. Being heavily involved in athletics including soccer, basketball, badminton, volleyball and softball from early childhood, it came as no surprise to anyone that she pursue a degree in the study of human movement. After completing her degree in Kinesiology at McMaster, Kara went on to complete a Masters’s degree in Physiotherapy at McMaster and graduated in 2004. She has spent the last eighteen years working in orthopedics, home care, community paediatrics, school health services and private paediatrics. Kara’s passion has always been working with children. Kara has always been fascinated by the capabilities of the human brain and body; watching children develop new skills, build on their achievements and apply those skills and achievements outside the clinical setting brings that fascination to its highest level. Striving for milestones and working towards physical goals can be gruelling; there is nothing more rewarding for everyone than reaching these goals while having FUN. By virtue of her kids' experiences in organized sport and having been a trainer on their hockey teams, Kara recognizes the need for enhanced concussion education for families and has taken a strong interest in supporting local organizations and athletes through concussion. Kara completed the CCMI course in 2022. Kara continues to remain active and involved in sports in one way or another. Winters are spent in chilly arenas as a spectator or trainer for her kids’ hockey teams and even trying the sport out herself. In the summer, you can usually find Kara scooping ground balls on the infield or cheering on her children at the baseball diamond.
