Matthias was passionate about healthcare since high school. After finishing a Bachlors of Health Sciences degree (BHSc) he became a Paramedic (PCP) and worked for BC Ambulance helping others. His interest in rehab grew from treating acute injuries for the Saskatoon wrestling team. This lead him into a Masters of Physiotherapy program at the University of Saskatoon. Matthias is passionate about continued learning. He has taken many different courses covering Concussion Management and exercise prescription and is certified in Intra-muscular Stimulation (dry needling). He also works as a clinical skills assistant with the UBC Masters of Physiotherapy program, feeding his passion for knowledge translation with students of the program. Matthias believes every injury and individual has a unique path to recovery and uses tools such as education, exercise prescription and modalities (such as dry needling ) to facilitate recovery. When he's not in the clinic Matthias loves staying active mountain biking, rock climbing, running in the summer and backcountry/x-country skiing in the winter.
