Dr Cheah Si Oon graduated from National University of Singapore in 2004. She became a member of the Royal College of Surgeons (Emergency Medicine), Edinburgh in 2008 and a registered specialist in Emergency Medicine with the Singapore Medical Council in 2011. She was working as a Specialist Emergency Physician at the Department of Emergency Medicine at Singapore General Hospital and Ng Teng Fong General Hospital before she left for private practice in 2020. Her main area of interest is in Pre-Hospital Emergency Care (EMS), having worked with the Unit for Pre-hospital Emergency Care (UPEC) in professional training and development section for the paramedics. She is a member in the Sports Safety Committee with Sports Singapore, drafting recommendation and guidelines for Sports Safety, Pre-Participation Screening and Event Medical Coverage. Her main research interest is on sports related Out of Hospital Cardiac Arrests (OHCA) She continues to work with the community, striving to improve the survival rate of OHCA as well as improving safety in sports.
