- Ria Wilson.PhysiotherapistMScPT, BSc(Kin)Exercise RehabMyofascial ReleaseNeck RehabRia was born and raised in Ottawa, ON. As an active kid on the soccer field, at the swimming pool or in the school gym, Ria developed a passion for movement and physical activity. Wanting to share this passion with others, Ria spent her summers teaching swimming lessons and winters teaching skating lessons to kids of all ages. It was here that her love for helping kids achieve their goals was born. She continued to pursue this passion for human movement and teaching with a degree in Kinesiology from Queen’s University, where she became even more fascinated by the incredible abilities of the brain and body. Here she spent time volunteering in an adapted gym for community members with physical and cognitive impairments, and developed a passion for making exercise accessible to all. She then went on to complete her Masters in Physiotherapy from McMaster University, where she gained experience working with clients with neurological, orthopaedic and complex medical conditions. During this time, she also joined Hamilton Kids Physio Group as a volunteer where she saw just how FUN physio can be! Ria is thrilled to be joining the Kids Physio family once again, this time in South Surrey. Strong communication, education, functional exercise and creativity are key pillars to her treatment approach, while of course making each and every session fun! Ria puts the child and their family at the centre of everything she does, and looks forward to working collaboratively with each family to help children reach their full potential. When not at the clinic you can find Ria hiking, biking, running, skiing (on water and snow!) and exploring all that this beautiful province has to offer!
- Alyssa Campbell.PhysiotherapistBKinH, MScPTOriginally from Calgary, AB, Alyssa joined Kids Physio Group in 2016. She completed her Bachelor of Kinesiology with Honours at Acadia University in Nova Scotia. While at Acadia, she worked as a student athletic therapist for various sports teams and spent time volunteering with children in both the S.M.I.L.E (Sensory Motor Instructional Leadership Experience) and Kinderskills programs. At Acadia, Alyssa also completed an undergraduate honours thesis exploring fundamental movement skills in children with Autism. Her passion for working with children grew, and led her to the University of Alberta, where she completed her Masters of Science in Physical Therapy. Alyssa is passionate about understanding how kids move, what makes each kid unique, and most of all helping infants, children and families reach their goals. Her post-graduate education and experience allows her to work with a wide range of presentations, including infant conditions, developmental disorders, gross motor delays, toe walking, coordination concerns, concussions, and more! Alyssa especially loves developmental paediatrics, and working with infants and young children. She is also a Registered Autism Service Provider (RASP). Prior to opening the South Surrey location, Alyssa was also the Clinical Manager of our North Surrey clinic, working to ensure the clinic ran smoothly and could provide the best care possible to our clients. When not in the clinic, Alyssa loves spending time with her husband, their daughter & pup, testing out new recipes and trying to be a better photographer!
