Roberto is a registered physiotherapist. He obtained his Master of Science degree in Physiotherapy at McMaster University in 2016, and previously a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Kinesiology at York University. As a former member of the Canadian national soccer team, representing Canada at the U-17 world cup qualifying, Roberto pursued his dream of playing soccer professionally in England for 3 years. Roberto understands the importance of injury prevention, treatment, and recovery from both a physical and psychological perspective. Roberto’s experience as a high level athlete in combination with his knowledge and experience as a physiotherapist has enabled him to fulfill his passion for helping people overcome injury. His treatment plans incorporate a combination of hands-on techniques, education, and exercise prescription to reduce pain and optimize a person’s functional independence. He offers additional skills and knowledge in acupuncture, muscle energy techniques, athletic taping, manual therapy, vestibular rehabilitation, and concussion management, having completed specialized training with Complete Concussion Management Inc. (CCMI), a network of clinics around the world offering evidence-based concussion care. Roberto believes his role as a physiotherapist in Concussion Rehabilitation is vital in return to sport for athletes or return to work for adults. As CCMI is evidence based it is a great tool for as a clinician to monitor and communicate with patients and provide the best possible advice to managing and resolving concussions and their associated symptoms.
